Melsogydath Ulyorbaldenfdaar Lore
I'm currently playing him in a tabletop game of Descent into Avernus (which is a prequel to bg3) so hopefully he survives that, so that that campaign can also be canon to this version. But for now, this is just the backstory for that campaign.
Mel was left as an egg on the porch of the Lodge of the Society of Brilliance with a note that gave his name (perhaps there was more, but he wasn’t told). When he hatched, the society was surprised to find a half blue-half bronze dragonborn. They raised Mel to be curious about the world around him. He discovered a connection to the weave through his draconic blood. Naturally, he seeks to learn more about this. They gave him a staff to help focus his power.
One time, he secretly tried to cast without his staff; instead using his body as a conduit for the weave, as he felt he could do. This resulted in his near death. He quite literally almost puked up his guts from the power.
But partway through the campaign, he accidentally broke his staff trying to get a mechanism to move. Being without his staff and under pressure, he managed to do it. To channel magic through his body.
When he casts, lightning flows along the small gaps at the meeting points between the bronze and blue scales.
Erish Likias

Decently well-known wizard in Elturel. A member of the society seems to have a connection with her from way back. Mel hopes to get in contact with her, as she knows more about the arcane than anyone in the society.
He has very high hopes that she will be very kind and helpful. (This could be true, completely false, or partially false idk)
